OT-Laughed till I cried-ebay auction

People have been telling me these critters are worth alot of money. I know nothing about them, and told you everything you need to know up in the description. I make no claims on value, and to be honest. I am amazed anyine pays more then a dollar a piece for these things. What happened to collecting STAMPS? Pay what you want for them! IT ALL GOES TO HOMEDEPOT !!!!!! and BEER!

I hope he enjoys his tools and beer! :D

$860.00 for 26 bean bags with eyes?

of couse I'd pay that for the right piece of sharpened steel with a wood handle....

who is crazier?

No, I really don't want an answer...:D

HOLY COW!!! He's gonna be able to buy a lot of tools and beer with $860! Good for the dude though, that was absolutely hysterical. Thanks for sharing clearblue. Actually; wait a minute! How did you come across a beanie baby auction?! Is there something we should know? ;) :p

A worthy chuckle.

Hope whoever won the auction really
felt they got a bargain.

I mean, a khuk can actually do something.

These cuddlies end up out of reach of the kids
they were originally meant for.

The only thing that ever made sense to me about Beanie Babies was when I saw a table overflowing with them at a gun show...

Wicked - I am happy for the guy. It boils down to perceived value doesn't it.

We perceive our khuk's to be as valuable as their weight in gold while others do not share our passion. Same with these toys, somebody is very happy to pay +$800 for them, think it is psycho myself but look how many hits he got..

We should send him an e-mail and invite him to spend some of his money on Uncle's khukuris !!

Hi,
I particularly enjoyed drunkensailor's response to Taisha the psycho beanie baby net witch and ebay morality enforcement cop.:D

This is the absolute best and should give all the eBay "experts" pause about what they write. This guy is awesome and I hope Taisha is still trying to take the knot out her panties.

You do have to admit that it would be a decent counterfeiting scam. Guy claims he got some junk and doesn't know what it is - may be counterfeit or not. Those "in the know" are willing to take a risk to get a rare/valuable thing, and pretty soon bidding is almost up to $1000. Could be khuks or beanie babies or just about anything. Even if they are fake they guy claims he didn't know, and would probably get off if it wasn't a frequent occurance.

This guy seems to be on the level, though. Hope he enjoys the tools.

My Sister and Mother collected around 200 beanie babies, never payed more than a few bucks each. They did this over the 4 years of her high school. Lets say the average beanie costs around $6.

200 * $6 each = $1200, I have dropped $1200 in the past couple of years on Firearms and Ammo alone (Yes I am in college, and yes I like peanut butter and jelly)

The thing is, right now, my sister and mother estimate they could sell the entire collection for around 3000-4000, and individually some are worth a couple of hundred.

There is a market for everything, ya just gotta know how to access it.

PBJ sandwiches, bags of frozen microwave burritos(10 for $2.50 works out to a quarter a piece), ramen, mac and cheese, etc, helps thsi poor colledge kid(well, former college kid now, but school loans coming due next month) be able to afford toys. Not as much as I want, or as often as I want, but it's a sacrifice that's worth it.

Esp. as whenever I finally get around to getting married(should probably start dating again ;) ) Have been warned by many not to expect to be able to ever buy a gun or knife again. something about that little piece of metal on your finger makes you inelgible to buy them or something. :D

Well for me the sad bit is Taisha actualy gave him some good advice, if you miss out the holier than thou morality trip, that is!
Pity the drunken sailor didnt surf first!

Check out..

Peanut the Elephant can go for $1.995.
Ty the spider = $1055
Stegs at $455
a Humphry , A blem with missing pommel , whoops I mean tag+ goes for $380 alone, never mind with a tag!!

thats just under $4000!! which would get Steve a lot more beer & tools!

He is a great comedian, but I reckon $4000 is better than $860 any day of the week unless you light cigars, or wipe your behind with 100 dollar bills!

SD & ETP: I understand that Beanies are loaded with protein and can nicely supplement those college culinary challenges. Either spit roasted or as a real flavor enhancer for your Ramen, they can't be beat. Most importantly they are great deep-fried to eat along with LOTS of beer. Maybe you can ask Taisha how best to prepare the little suckers.

I'm here to tell you guys that Beanie Babies are actually pretty cool, and worthwhile to boot. For example, my brother and I were out in his garage messing around with the blowgun, went looking for targets and found a box full of the things...

*Hint, hang them from the tresses with some paracord, and work on moving target skills.

*Hint #2, don't tell SIL how clever you are as regards field expedient target rigging.
