OT: LCS? Yvsa? Primitive sheath--

Now that is cool!!!!:eek: :cool: :D The sheath alone almost makes me want to bid on it!!!!:D
 
A very different type of sheath for sure....

Kis, Received pkg today or yesterday. Didn't pick up the mail yesterday, got it all today. Thank You very much.

Haven't opened it yet, but will soon. Getting Mom to three different med appointments today with all the turmoil that goes with it, plumb wore me out. I didn't try to cook after getting home. I cheated and swung by KFC on the way out of Albuquerque.
 
Too bad there isn't a pic of the reverse side of the sheath. I would really like to know how the turtle tail was skinned.
If it was case skinned the skinner really has/had talent! :eek:
But I'm pretty much betting it was cut down the center on the back side, cured and then sewn up to make the sheath.
From the rather poor pics it looks almost like the leather covers something or something was inserted but I'm not really sure of what I'm seeing.
Couldn't hardly be something inserted that could be seen or the handle of the knife wouldn't slide in far enough to be covered like it is when sheathed.
Confusing.:rolleyes: :confused: :grumpy:
