After my morning maintenance meeting was over, I was talking to another member and he asked if I could sharpen his knife. It was just a little sharper than a butter knife and the tip was slightly rounded. So here it is... figured I would share it with you.

I did this for free. My sponsor would say this is getting into service.

Awesome knife Charlie. Got one just like it and it locks up like a vault. I REALLY like the folding hunters. Kind of an underrated knife IMO.

This one doesn't lock up tight at all. Seems like the liner lock is only there to act as a safety feature to a slip joint. It allows maybe 2-3 degrees of closure before the liner stops the tang.

That Schrade carbon steel does get sharp.

You could start up a shaving service, Matt.

It's always rewarding to share your talents with others, good job!

Yep, these were never really meant to 'lock up' like a modern liner or frame lock, it's just extra insurance against closing (and does a fine job of that, I might add.) Nice job on the sharpening!

That's a BIG one, very cool old classic OT there.

I only have one LL traditional - my #55 and it actually locks up tight. But then again it's not 50 yrs old either so perhaps over time that develops. Plus that LL on your OT appears to be brass, so will wear over time with use. My LL on the 55 is 1095 steel, so may be a lot less noticeable.
