A Bilton won't work for "guests" nor a JKM or Kumar Karda and I can't think of another HI product or Khuk that will be OK for my wife's family visit next month, sigh.
I was hoping that some one out there just might have a suggestion or recommendation.
(and yes, I do plan to buy good beef to start with)

Thanks

Why not just good steak knives,
I'm thinking heavy, serrated like steakhouses use.

Or get a few nice, big paring or other kitchen knives
if you just want sharp knives.

For sturdier items, try restaurant supply stores,
most I've seen sell retail to the public.

Oriental/Asian/Indian groceries in your area may carry some
kitchen/table knives that are somewhat different than
your other area stores.

Something like this maybe:

"Good knife" and cutting on plate doesn't add up imo.

I don't generally like serations, but this is one case where they make sense.

the hanuman makes a FINE steak knife... :D

but if thats too much knife for you, try these: http://www.miracleblade.com

i have a complete set and theyre awesome... they will rust though, so you cant just leave them laying in the sink...

The smaller Spyderco kitchen utilityknives go though steak like butter.

Neko2

Or slice it thin & let everyone cook their own on a grill at the table
