Neat! It's an SP-01 that has been refnished. It looks like it's either hard chrome or nickel. The hammer is custom, as are the grips. Everything else appears to be stock.

it came in a cz box the said

sp01 black polycoat ..

CZ is one brand I have never owned... How is the trigger pull and accuracy? I would not mind trying one of them out.

lunde,
quick question...
like all other cz's ive seen you can not put the safety on unless the hammer is cocked all the way back....

on this one..you can put the safety on w/ the hammer on 1/2 cock?????

DA is smooth but heavy. SA is medium weight but has a bit of creep. I've had worse. I've had better. The lockwork is unique compared with Beretta/Walther DAs and more like the 1911 than anything else.

Accuracy is about average for a combat pistol. The reversed rails seem to lend a degree of consistency.

Ergonomics is where you get the real payoff. Nothing feels as good in the hand as a CZ-75. It even makes the Browning Hi-Power seem a little clunky.

This might sound like faint praise but for this: Mine are not for sale.

Mine does not do that. The safety can be engaged only when the hammer is fully cocked. When it is at half-cock or uncocked, the safety cannot be engaged.

I suggest that you call CZ-USA on Monday, give them the serial number, as ask whether this is a Custom Shop SP-01 that had its trigger worked on. The fact that it is not black, along with the non-standard grips and how the safety works, clearly points to Custom Shop or third-party work being done to it.

When you bought how, how was it advertised? As bone stock?

I have two P01's and a 75BD. The ergos are great, especially on the p01's. They made the backstrap to trigger dimension slightly smaller and for those of us with smaller hands, it made all the difference in the world. I have been eyeballing one of those sp01's since they came out. Very nice. My original 75BD would occasionally lock open with a round or two in the mag. A very judicious amount of stoning on the slide stop took care of that. The P01 and Sp01 are supposed to be much tighter tolerances than the older cz's which aren't necessarily parts interchangeable. I bought it for under 300 dollars and it was the best pistol money I have ever spent (Shooting wise its up there with my sigs, glocks, HP, colt, etc.)

Wouldn't it be a hard anodize (on the frame at least) since the frame is an aluminum alloy isn't it??

The SP-01 frame is steel. That of the P-01 is aluminum alloy.

hello all first post. the pistol you have does indeed have a steel frame but the hammer is a CZ competition SA/DA set up it looks very similar to the one Angus Hobdell competes with (and wins world championships with) on the CZ shooting team in the tactical production class. contrary to what pedropcola says many of the parts are interchangeable with other cz75's with the most notable exception being the barrel to a smaller sized cz being as the barrel lug is different or if you have a de-cocker model such as a CZ p01.
I have owned a CZ p01 and absolutely loved it way better ergo's than a glock 19. if you have larger hands Hogue grips are awesome. the only down side to a CZ as far as I can tell are the stock triggers they seem almost crunchy but are easily fixed with your garden variety trigger job. Back to your gun in question it seems to have a stainless finish that is on the cz 75 stainless, champion and tactical sport I have seen it before on an sp01 but with that hammer it makes me think it was a custom factory piece. None the less CZ's are absolutely great guns that hold a s#*t load of 9's and most importantly are fun to shoot.
Have fun
Shoot straight
Be safe
