Didnt someone here post about a Maxpedition monsoon the other day?

Anyone else use a "sling style" pack for day hiking? Are they comfortable?

Better than a two shoulder strap pack? Or just different? THOUGHTS>?

I had one and traded it,I dont care for the single strap.
Maxpedition makes excellent gear,I'd suggest going to a shop that has them inhouse and trying them out....

I just put a kit together with a Sitka, I really like having the one strap for my uses. I have worn it for two and three hours straight with no complaints.

hw paintballer has one he uses a lot, I have one as well, and I actually really like the monostrap design, but I switched to the squarish but slightly larger Typhoon (also a monostrap design). Both bags are tough as nails, well thought out and work very well as a EDC.

I thought i would like it but after getting a monsoon and carrying it a bit I preferred a regular pack. I sold it and picked up a Falcon-2 I like carrying this one a lot better.

I have a Malaga and I like it a lot. I've had it for two years now and it goes everywhere with me. :)

After carrying a backpack using only one strap, I just can't imagine one strap ever being comfortable for long when carrying a decent load. My backpack has really nice thick straps but after a while it still makes my shoulder sore when carried this way.

I have, and have been using daily, a Monsoon for 3 years. I love it. I like the single strap. I find that using the waist band relieves fatigue when carring it for long periods. I seldom wish this pack were any bigger and mine is supplemented with a Janus pack which I attached to the compression straps. I think this pack is hit or miss; you'll either love it or you'll hate it.

Different strokes for different folks, I like how easy it is to sling on and off, and the overall look of it gives it a nice "sheeple friendly" look, IMO. I've had mine for some time and it has played the role of vacation/trip bag, car bag, hiking bag, and BOB bag. It has some nice features to it, like a hidden pocket in the strap that goes across your wait that you can store some cash, or even a spare wallet in. I haven't went hiking in about a month now, so it hasn't seen too much recent use, :D but in a BOB I guess it's good to say that you haven't had to use it.

Here's some random pics I have of it, after all what's a thread without pics :D ?

What Maxpedition backpacks does anyone recommend? I am used to a backpack and carry too much stuff to carry it in a single strap pack.
