Looks interesting

Sir Clisto is good people, you can browse his vastly informative web-site for days, and, you won't find one bit of "foolishness" on it you don't want your kids looking at.:D

Ragnar's link page over at www.ragweedforge.com is well worth a look too.;)

Sarge

That's way:cool: . I love you guys and all the resources you have for school. I just have to remember never to use the word school and "look at this" in the same sentence. My daughter can't stand anything even sort of resembling school. You should see how creative I've become:rolleyes:

BTW Sarge and Dean, did either of you (or anybody else) Make it to Pensic this year? I just got back on Sun.

How old's your daughter?

Another good link Red.

Not into reenacting, but lots of good info from those groups.

My daughter is 12 going on 22:rolleyes: She likes to read. She really enjoys historical fiction, too, like G.A.Henty's books. They are very well written and I highly recommend them. I added these websites to my favorites and will pull them up with the appropriate books. Thanks guys. I may try to get to one of the Medieval weekends around here this year. If I can only find my listing of there dates. How I can manage to lose things just moving next door is beyond me. Must be that alzheimers setting in:D

Red,

I was at Pennsic. I was the boot merchant near the bazaar.

Even with the rain, mud, and heat, I had a great time! I had a chance to play (ie. burn up steel) on a friend's forge.

I also found a knifemaker (Master Ozo) that is doing some very nice pieces, and turned him on to a couple of knife related forums. Unfortunately most of the people that attend Pennsic have no idea what makes a good knife or sword. I had four Tinker swords and very few people realized the quality.

Next year we should have a get together at Pennsic.

Mamav,
There is a school in Oregon that has put out the entire set of G.A. Henty books on CD. Plus, they are beginning to reprint them in hardcover.

I'll dig out the URL at home, if you're interested.

Joe

Thanks Aard,
I have alot of the hard backs. They are expensive, so I limited it to 7 this year and I'll get the rest next year. On CD sounds interesting. That would make for some interesting car time.

Mamav, If your daughter has any interest in Ancient Greece or Roman Britain try Mary Renault (for excellent novels of Greece like The Mask of Apollo or The Last Of the Wine) and Rosemary Sutcliffe (my favorite so far is The Sword at Sunset, a historical novel of King Arthur).

Yeah, that Red

Sorry I didn't get back to see you but the heat and humidity were tough and it was hard to walk through the merchants when I was broke.
