I do paypal. Ferrous does not.
Can I paypal someone money and get them to mail american cash to ferrous for me ?

Sure Danny. I could do that for you no problem. (Does that save you time over just sending a check to Ferrous?)

I just reaquainted myself with my PP account yesterday after hardly using it in 4 years. I usually use my ATM Debit card or a CC for everything, so got out of the habit, however I was thinking it would speed things up for Uncle Bill and myself if I didn't always have to write a check.

Anyway, no one has ever transferred $ to me, it has only gone out. So what do you need from me? Just my email right?

Let me know.

Tnx.

Norm

thank you svashtar.
i can paypal from japan until the end of time, but getting US currency to someone is a behotch.

sometime this week i will send you the money, ok?
all I need is a paypal name to send it to.

Thanks a gazillion.

Guys, don't forget about the paypal fees! They extract their pint of blood whenever you receive money. At least it is that way with the premier account. I am not sure about the other types of paypal accounts.

Ferrous - I'd do it but I think you have to be a paid member to receive funds...regular join just allows you to send.??

I have had great luck with both PayPal and BidPay (which is Western Union). The fees aren't so horrible in the US. I just consider it the cost of doing business.

I've sent international money orders. There's a small fee but otherwise it's just like a cheque.

Whatcha gettin? :)

You could papal me, but I live by the "The buck stops here" code. :D

I ordered off the website and paid thru Yahoo with a Mastercard. Couldn't have been easier.

Unless PayPal's rules/policies have changed, they say "You can send funds to anyone with an email address." I believe the recipient then has to either open an account or wait a couple of weeks for PP to mail them a check.

Also, the fees extracted from incoming funds are only if it is a CC transaction. I usually pay directly from my checking account, so the recipient shouldn't be charged those fees. (Some payees levy a 3% surcharge for ANY PP transaction, reardless of funding source. They are either greedy, lazy or have no faith in the intelligence of their customers.)

Danny - Keith knows my travel schedule and it *looks* like there are no fees for a personal account, so it's up to him. My paypal is the same as the address listed here in the forum.

didn't wanna overtax yer new account since we're getting Ivan's oldies thru that.

Danny, try Nasty out, he's so close to me (like 120 miles).

To clarify paypal's fee schedule....

"PayPal charges Premier and Business accounts to receive payments. Personal accounts are free, but may not receive credit card payments. "
The personal accounts are limited in what they can do. If you have a Premier or Business account you are going to pay about 3% no matter how the customer pays.

OK, so Keith, you and Nasty and Danny are going to work it out?

If you need my help let me know. FYI, best way to reach me during the week is at norm_morris@ctb.com. I go days sometimes without checking my home e-mail, and sometimes have a hard time tracking down the forum threads to check for a follow up.

Regards,

Norm

if it works, then i will send the rest.
if not, then well do it some other way.
