OT: Moroccan? knife...kinda neat..

Bruise, is it a large collection of fish hooks or are they LARGE fish hooks. I am really looking for a foot long Aberdeen. :D

Bruce,

What kind of hook do you use for a 200 lb trout? I lost one of those a few years back; it bent my hook and broke free....

I lied. I don't have any fish hooks. I made it up to look like a "big man" among all the anglers in the forum. *snif*

"...collection of fish hooks or are they LARGE fish hooks." Darn technical questions. I'll probably be on Verifisherman in a few days. :(

Someday I'll write another book. I'll call it "Left Hooks and Fish Hooks: Angling for the pugilist".

LOL, how do you react to a "Garage Sale" sign? :D

I've always found the Moroccan/Arabian knives to have an air of mystery and romance. But sometimes I've been let down when I drew one from its scabbard as the blade doesn't reflect the workmanship the outside appearance portrays.:( :grumpy:

On the subject of such knives I have seen one Jambiya that I would have loved to owned in my 64 years.
I'm pretty sure it was Wootz steel and it was impeccably finished but sans scabbard, and with a $650.00 price tag. It was about 3/8" thick and about 2-3/4" wide by the hilt, and with a beautiful distal taper that ended in a needle like point.
If I had of had that much money at hand that day I would have bought it in spite of maybe being had. :o :D
It's one knife I will always wonder about and wish that I owned.

I guess this must be a Persian Jambia. It is a beauty!

:( :grumpy:

I was disappointed to see that the blade doesn't curve all the way to the tip of the sheath.....

  :footinmou :p

The one Kismet lists Is a modern Morrocan tourist Jambiya.

The good quality ones have better fit & finnish & blades that look much higher quality.

Nice decorater though!

The second one is a modern Indian Jambiya.
