oath (ōth)
n., pl. oaths (ōTHz, ōths).

A solemn, formal declaration or promise to fulfill a pledge, often calling on God, a god, or a sacred object as witness.
The words or formula of such a declaration or promise.

A modest proposal for your consideration:

"By the Seven Hairs of Bruise, I swear......."

I think it works in almost all situations, is non-denominational, and is appropriately solemn.

All feedback welcome.

Only a problem for Christians. Mathew 5.

Am I allowed to ask on what part of Bruise's anatomy these hairs reside? Seems to me this might answer the corollary............ :footinmou :D :D

Of course you know Bruise is Canadian, they only have hair on their ears...

I"m not swearing by any part of Bruise and certainly not any parts extending outwards.
