May I ask what the material is? From the pix it appears to be bronze but pix can fool one badly.

Now that you've shown us the habaki are you also going to show us the application?:D ;)

I did not make that :)

It is solid gold, goes on a sword that is getting polished right now. Will post pics when it is all done if interested.

i will say *knowing nothing of swords* that that is some very nice and accurate depth-of-feilding on the photography... very exacting in what it wants to show :), very nice...
 
:eek: Gorgeous habaki; was it made by Miyajima by any chance? Who's the swordsmith who's sword the habaki will adorn? Thanks for the photo!

Made by Brian Tschernega. Brian is the only non-Japanese to have won Toroksho and YushuSho for habaki making. It was made for a katana by Mihara MasaIe.
