I'mmmmmmmm Baaaaaack!!!!!!!!
Only took four days, but it seemed like an eternity, and I swear I'm an inch or two shorter from being crammed into those "spacious" airplane seats that were, IMHO, designed for pygmies.
How's it feel to be home? Exceedingly weird. Things like clean sheets and flush toilets seem like something right out of a fairy tale. And cold beer, oh my goodness, had my first one in Turkey, a Heineken in Uncle Bill's honor, took one sip and nearly fainted dead away. As soon as I got into Texas and got my duffle bags back I dug out my little Kagas Katne and stuffed it in my pocket, more than anything just to settle my nerves. To go from being fully armed to completely disarmed can make you pretty jumpy.
All's well that ends well. All my guys are home now safe and sound, and on their behalf, and mine, I want to thank every one of you for your prayers and support. Our mission's done, but there'll be others, and this "war on terrorism" is far from over. There's still plenty of my brothers and sisters in arms out there in harm's way, so I add my prayers to yours for their safety. I'd thought about retiring when I got back from this trip, but you know, I might just need a few months to think that over...................
