I'mmmmmmmm Baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Only took four days, but it seemed like an eternity, and I swear I'm an inch or two shorter from being crammed into those "spacious" airplane seats that were, IMHO, designed for pygmies.

How's it feel to be home? Exceedingly weird. Things like clean sheets and flush toilets seem like something right out of a fairy tale. And cold beer, oh my goodness, had my first one in Turkey, a Heineken in Uncle Bill's honor, took one sip and nearly fainted dead away. As soon as I got into Texas and got my duffle bags back I dug out my little Kagas Katne and stuffed it in my pocket, more than anything just to settle my nerves. To go from being fully armed to completely disarmed can make you pretty jumpy.

All's well that ends well. All my guys are home now safe and sound, and on their behalf, and mine, I want to thank every one of you for your prayers and support. Our mission's done, but there'll be others, and this "war on terrorism" is far from over. There's still plenty of my brothers and sisters in arms out there in harm's way, so I add my prayers to yours for their safety. I'd thought about retiring when I got back from this trip, but you know, I might just need a few months to think that over...................

WELCOME BACK, SARGE

Know how you feel! Served 12 out of 24 overseas, It was always good to get back in the good ol USA.

Feel sorta naked with out the extra weight of protection.

:) :) :) :)

I'm glad that you and all of your guys made it home safe and sound.

Let us know what your email address is going to be. I was assumeing that it would be the same as before you left.

Good to see you posting from the USA. God Bless all of you Sarge.:) :)

If you are back, that means someone else is now over there in your place, but then another someone else got to come home when you got there.

So that's kinda a bummer, but they ain't family. So welcome home safe and sound.

Welcome back -

You're good to go if you decide that way. Retirement can suck.

Welcome home Sarge. If you end up in the Philadelphia area anytime, contact me and I will take you out for a beer.

Glad you made it safe, Sarge! Our first toast this evening will be for you. The next, for the boys who are still there. Enjoy being at home!

Thank you for your work on our behalf, Sarge. Thanks for going over.

Great news and answered prayers.

Looks like we'll be in Titanic II in November and there's an extra bed and lots of Heineken -- and plenty of khukuris so you won't feel naked in Reno.
