Nifty. Can't get those at True Value, now can you?
The size puts it at the bottom of the Large 'Hawk category.:D I've always loved this shape of the Tomahawk! And a dayumed good price it is too!!!!:D  :D
"The Cutting edge is 4-1/4 inches, head length is 7-1/4 inches and overall length is 26-inches."

The company that made them got bought by a bigger company which decided to stop making the axes.

I was real lucky to find three of the hand axe heads and two Cruiser heads at a house sale. $1.00 each. Took some work to re-handle them since the right size handles could not be found, so I bought handles sized for larger and filed - and filed and filed! Not as thin a profile as a GB, but good cutters.

Got one cheap on eBay listed as "Nrodlund." :p

Never tried a 'hawk. Any fun?
You're asking an ndn this question?;) :p ;)
I have way over five, not all of them usable for throwing but very ample for killin if need be. One is bronze from the Old English Mold's and the other cast iron, both of these are pipe 'hawks.
The bronze one cut a snake in half before I learned better than to kill snakes.:( Done it very efficently. However most 'hawks are weapons and not tools so aren't made for chopping although some can in a pinch.
Perhaps one of these days I'll dig the ones that aren't on *The Wall* take a pic and post it.
'Hawks are a great deal of fun. It helps to have at least 3 when used for throwing as it saves a lot of walking to retrieve them from the target, or on the ground past it.:D

Yvsa,

Have you looked at Ragnar's hawk offerings? A couple look like tools, esp the double-edged one.

Tom

Sweet, Yvsa! I'll have to try that out after I buy every HI ever made! :) :D :barf: :D :)

Tom I've been eyeing that one! I have three made by my Cuz that are tools as well. Made from the steel the Crane Carrier Truck Frame's are made from, tough as hell!!!!:D

IMO it's better to buy 'Hawks that you can buy replaceable handles for. Saves a lot of handle making and one reason I seldom throw my 'Hawks anymore.:(
