The other day I was thinking about something a friend said while camping. He had a theory that people who are attracted to gold are the same people who like the sun. The people who like silver are the ones who like finding their way by moonlight. He said this on top of a hill that we climbed by the light of the full moon. When I looked down at my silver bracelet it made me think.

Are you a sun child? And if so, do you wear gold? Or are you part of the moon tribe with silver at your neck and wrist? Or is the idea just the ramblings of a couple of drunk men foolish enough to climb a hill in the Anza at midnight?

It may be the midnight ramblings of a couple of drunks, but I think it has some validity. I have observed the same thing.

I am attracted to neither gold nor silver and don't particularly like the sun nor the moonlight, but I like stainless steel and I love the rain.

Dunno that I'm part of the moon tribe, but always tend to prefer darkness/night, and all I wear is silver, or white gold, for about 90% of the time, if not more(have one yellow gold chain, but only because it was impulse buy to help deal with losing my job. Yep, really dumb idea ;) ) They didn't have any whit gold where I was shopping that day though, or it woulda been white.

I used to take people on "moon runs' as I called them- hiking in the mountans and desert by light of the Moon. I don't think the theory holds though. I like the Moon, the Sun, the Stars, the Rain, the Snow, the Wind....

Some of my friends used to think I was a creature of darkness...but honest, officer, I was drunk.

Sounds right to me, interesting to look at the astrology behind it too.
I have a strong Sun influence in my chart (triple Leo) and have never been able to wear silver colored metals or black or white favoring warmer colors and gold colored metals.
Those with a strong Lunar influence seem to prefer silver and black and white (the colors better seen in the moonlight)

Dunno...but I hate rings on my fingers. Earrings and chains are fine, though...even bracelets.

I wear a watch because I need to. It has a brown leather strap. The case is brushed stainless, but I liked the model better when it came in anodized green or brown. What does it mean when you don't like anything shiny? I used to have a thing for brass, if that means anything.

Well I think that for some people it's more complex than others (just as some individuals are more complex than others...) but I think the base is about right. To my knowledge silver has always been an old symbol of the moon as well but that might just be my personal preference.

As a side note I was born at 10:53 pm and I seem to gravitate towards being awake through the night. Whereas my young cousin was born at something like 6 or 7 in the morning and he seems to get up around that time consistently.

Speaking of astrology and zodiac or what not, I find that most of the ones I'm familiar with manage to apply to me more than I would like sometimes. I wonder what sort of results you'd get if you combined all the systems together into one? Some other kook has probably tried that already though.

that keeps the FBI from reading my thoughts!
Actually, I love the moonlight and always wear a hat(not a ball cap) to protect me from the sun. When I wake up in the morning I don't bother turning on the lights until after I'm out of the shower and trying to comb whatever follicles haven't fallen out during the course of the night.
Never took to wearing any jewelry at all. Don't care for it. I do tend to wear a custom Boye utility knife at my belt that could qualify though.

Huh. I prefer silver to gold but wear neither (nor any jewelry, for that matter. My one watch is a $10 Casio covered in paint spatter), and was born around 8:00 am but am a night owl. I love sunlight and moonlight (and clouds, rain, shadow, hail, etc.). I guess SFN's theory and the others don't apply to me. :)

I wear plastic and aluminum. Don't want to know that that says about me, thank you.

My watch is a stainless Seiko with a brown leather replacement band and an orange face.

But the watch I usually have on is a Wal-Mart white metal case and band with a white face. I bought two at the same time and the other is black case, black face, and black plastic band. Two times $6.87.

I'm too poor and too cheap to wear jewlery. I'd probably break or lose it too. I wear a watch on occasion though, but that's for special occasions like parole hearings and such.

Does that make me part of the trailer tribe?

You see that, Bruise? Rusty has a back up for his watch....what he really means is his drawer at home has a Seiko- he has a Wally world special.

As for trailor trash- we lived in a trailer in Sheridan, Wyoming. I considered it my sacred American duty to squirt as much burned and un burned propane into the Winter Western night sky as possible....
