The ground poundin' side of the Air Force is a small community, so news travels fast. One of the "Special Forces soldiers" killed in a recent ambush over in Afghanistan, was in fact a young Ground Forward Air Controller serving with the unit he was attached to. In the grenade "attack" in Kuwait involving the 101st Airborne, one of the guys in one of the tents was an Air Force Air Liason Officer. He didn't make it either.
Uncle Bill said it best, this "War on Terrorism" is going to try all of us, and before it's over it'll touch each of us in one way or another.
