I talked to Pappy this morning while several of you were polishing your chos. (That's a joke- it's OK, Pappy and I swapped a couple of them.)

He's doing pretty good, I think. He has a chair and some crutches. The chemo therapy is making him tired. Pappy's wife is working hard to keep things together. Naturally, being limited and not active is against 67 years of habit for this man.

The computer is on the fritz at the house so Pappy hasn't been stopping by. He should be back here soon. The Doctor thinks Pappy has a good chance. So do I. The patient says he's never been a quiter and isn't now.

Neither one of us understood what Cancer is. I doubt Doctors truly understand either, but that's another topic. There's a lot of cells that don't know what they're doing, but they're doing it faster than normal, healthy cells and multiply quicker. Personally, I think those cells are in for a big surprise.

Munk, please make sure that he knows we're thinking of him. Thanks.

i have read in many places that the body completely replaces every single cell in itself every seven years.
[therefore we are a new person every 7yrs]
and occasionaly something goes wrong and a cell mutates therefore becoming cancerous.it is a natural thing i think and tends to happen more in older persons, after many many years the copying process must break down ???.
other not so natural causes, may well be foriegn substances interfering with this rejuvenating roccess of our cells, such as solar radiation, chemicals from smokeing, chemicals in what we eat ect.
what ever causes it ,it is a bastard, especialy when it strikes the young who havent had time to enjoy life yet.
i often wonder what kind of god [if there is one]
would choose to make youngsters suffer so,he aint got my vote thats for sure.
GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES TO YOU MATE I HOPE YOU GET BETTER SOON:)

Thanks munk. I'm sure he knows a lot of folks he's never met are on his side in this. Best to Yangdu, this must be a terrible strain for her.

Glad to hear Pappy is still hangin in there. I expected nothing less from an old Marine.:D
