I tried some of this "supergrain" the other night, as I have been trying to incorporate more whole grains into my diet. Interesting texture, but the flavor leaves a bit to be desired, kinda bland with a bit of a grassy taste. I think it might a lot better if you mix it with other foods. I just ate it plain.

here's a link for those who are interested.

I've eaten it many times. Good with butter and garlic, but the taste is like you describe? Ever eat Millet? Texture is kinda the same but taste is better.

Been eating mostly whole grains for about 6 years. Like to mix about 50% Thai Jasmin rice to 50% another grain (Millet, Amaranth, Wheat Berries, etc...) and cook. Seems tastier and more nutrious that way. Nice thing about Amaranth is it contains complete protien, all the Amino Acids! Kasha is excellent for a change of pace, if you don't mind the extra calories :)

Josh,

Check out Foodtv.com under the recipes section. Bobby Flay did a quinoa salad a few weeks ago that looked pretty darned tasty. I went out and picked up a small package of Bob's Red Mill quinoa but haven't had the opportunity to cook it up yet.

I've been wanting to try quinoa for awhile and finally bought some at the local health food store.

I've seen a millet pilaf recipes that I was going to try with it to get started.

Anyone else have any tasty quinoa recipes?

I haven't tried it. The closest I've ever gotten to anything such as this is soy flour. Quite good when added to pancakes or baked goods.:)
You can go here for the search I did on Google using quinoa recipes.:D
Appears to be lots of them.:D
