I just want to rant for a minute. I hate electric sharpeners. I know there are some folks that know how to use them but I see so many knives butchered by them. I've been looking at some older Bucks online and notice several of them look like somebody ground the snot out of them.:thumbdn: Now I know knives are for using and sharpening is part of it, but man it bugs me to see fine tools ground to pieces.:thumbdn: I have often considered over the past year or so to buy me one of the wok sharp thingys , but have refrain as I see so many knives fall victims of careless hands.Ok my little rant is off. And there is actually no purpose of this thread except to let a little steam off.:D

Bench grinders...they qualify as an electric sharpener don't they?
I wish people would take better care of stuff I'm going to own someday..... :(

People who use grinders on knives should have to test them first on one of their appendages.

Electric sanders/grinders in the hands of a skilled person is and can be a beautiful thing, but it also can butcher your stel beyond your worst nightmares as well. If you don't know what your doing, leave it up to the pros, Please...

Exactly, I have no problem with someone using a electric sander/grinder who take their time and know what they are doing.I have seen lots of people do fine jobs. But so many just grind beautiful blades to pieces.

IMHO, someone who would use a kitchen countertop electric knife sharpener is probably not a real knife guy.
