Hello,
two or three weeks ago I read a good quote about Prometheus and smokers in someone´s signature line - can´t find it anymore.
Does anyone remember who had this line? the "search"-function does not check the signatures.

Thank you
Andreas

Thank you uncle - V. Gebril has another line - but vampire was a good search term: it was vampire hunter D.
I will use it for the smoker`s room at my school - and maybe the next time when I teach about the poem "Prometheus" by Goethe.

this was it what I was looking for:

Three of the four elements are shared by all creatures, but fire was a gift to humans alone. Smoking cigarettes is as intimate as we can become with fire without immeadiate excruciation. Every smoker is an embodiment of Prometheus, stealing fire from the gods and bringing it back home. We smoke to capture the power of the sun, to pacify Hell, to identify with the primordial spark, to feed on the marrow of the volcano. It's not the smoke we're after but the fire. When we smoke, we are performing a version of the fire dance, a ritual as ancient as lighting. The lung of a smoker is a naked virgin thrown as a sacrifice into the godfire.

Like most of Bruise's posts there's not really any point. Usually it's just garbage not worth a second thought. Just ignore him, sometimes he goes away.

Oh - I would regret that very much...
and being a German literature teacher I am skilled enough to find hidden meanings, codes and secret thougts in written text - even if they are not intended, even if they are not existant Ha, I will find out what Bruise wanted to say !.... :D Resistance is futile (to cite HIMIMPBORG)

...at least it should be easier to find out than if I tried to find out "what Shakespeare wanted to say in this drama" - Shakespeare is dead - long live Bruise who speaks in riddles (for non native English speakers)!

Sometimes I write stuff to entertain myself. The post was sort of linked to the "Master and Commander" thread. Sort of a pun and play on words from old naval tradition.

Yeah... it's a stretch. :(

Maybe I'll edit it and try to change it into another bear thread. ;)
