The talk about trekking poles got me thinking about that I should post this here too.
I've got tentative plans to hike the North Fork Mt. Trail weekend after Labor Day this summer.
North Fork Mt. is an awesome trail, has some up and downs but not too rocky, and beautiful views. Here is a link to a thread with some pics I took of last years journey:

Some of the pics aren't showing up for me on this thread so scroll down for pix.
Anyway if anyone lives near and wants to go be happy to have you along.
Plan would be to meet there and get into the woods by around 2 Friday afternoon. We'd hike to a good camping spot right on the rim of the cliffs and camp there Friday night. Saturday we'd hike over to the next good camping spot, and if enough time hike over for sunset at Chimney Rocks. Sunday hike out.
The whole trip would be 14 miles. We'd have cars/trucks parked at both ends and then shuttle everybody back to their cars at the top of the Mt.
The main thing is North Fork is dry. That means that you must carry all your water for the trip. Last year I carried about a gallon and 3/4 and that was enough for me.
North Fork is near the WV/VA border near Petersburg WV and near Seneca Rocks also.
If anyone is interested let me know and I'll keep you posted. Don't want to go unless the weather is good cause it gets foggy up there.
That's all.
