OT: Sheez. I got some work to do.

Hmmmm, 6'4", 220. Looks like I need to lose about 15 lbs to make it to the top medical recommendation weight, and about 35 lbs to make it to People's choice.

I know I need to lose weight but this calculater is BS. So at 6'8" my medically ideal weight starts at 173? Give me a freakin' break. I have weighed from 340 lbs. to as little as 185 lbs. and at 200 I had people stopping me on the street and feeding me because you could see every rib in my body.

I'm at 320 now and need to lose a solid 50 pounds anyway just to get within range. 10 more would be even better, as at 260 I think I feel and look my best.

I notice that the top calculator just shows what goal people want to reach. So all the 425 pound folks want to be where I'm at right now! Hey! I just lost 100 pounds! Time for a beer... :)

all I know is, the last 8 months of all-ice-cream-and-pizza diet hasn't worked for me. Staying at home reading and on the computer has not burned off the kind of calories you might think. Then, there's this age thing...... :grumpy:

Not fair. I had one of those high metabolic rate lives...eat anything, gain nothing. Now this.

I thought karma caught up with you AFTER you died. :grumpy:

Me too Kis, Me too. Mine slowed down after I had my 2nd back surgery and now it takes a great effort to lose.
My body reacts in funny ways to different things. When I exercise I actually gain weight even though I lose inches. I'm hoping to be able to get more weight off then on with the walking regimen I have now.

Your current Body Mass Index is 20.3 kg/m2
According to the Peoples choice, I need to GAIN some weight. 42 yrs old, 6 ft tall, 150 lbs. My weight hasn't changed more than 4-5 lbs in 15 years. I'm one of the lucky people that got the right genes passed on to me. Yeah, yeah, I know, sit down and shut up. :D:D:D Now if only I'd gotten the ones for good teeth, I'd be good to go. I only have 9 original teeth, the rest get placed in a jar at night.

Bill?

All the malicious incantations of those folks who hate you for being metabolically thin take effect after you turn 50.

(I do believe it is part of the military/industrial plot. Not sure.)
