$15 (fifteen $
) for a variable-speed dremal-type tool
With 42" Flexshaft attachment & various grinding bits (1/8" shafts).
The States
Albertson's grocery stores
Originally a Father's Day special sale item.
I don't know in how many states this store-chain
(by that or other names)is found.
Cheap/inexpensive but works fine.
Labeled Buffalo Tools (St Louis based tool importer)
www.buffalotools.com
This is not industrial quality, but for occasional use.......
It does not turn at all at the lowest speed setting (0-power)
but starts to turn when the power setting gives it enough juice.
Yes it is variable speed.
Lower speeds tend to bog down when you apply much pressure,
but the higher speeds have the power.
-Slightly- larger than a Dremal brand.
It's an identical kit (by parts included)to a $70 real Dremal
with flexshaft that I've been watching in the stores.
This flexshaft looks like it will hold up.
The spring inside comes out easily, so it could be replaced if needed.
Handpiece small and comfortable.
Solid aluminum connector at tool-end.
The Dremal flexshaft alone costs $25.
This Buffalo flexshaft -almost- fits my OLD, OLD, OLD Dremal.
Slightly different threading.
I went back today to get another unit to have the flexshaft to
fit unto my Dremal, and an extra unit if the first gives out.

With 42" Flexshaft attachment & various grinding bits (1/8" shafts).
