Looks like I fried one of the mid range cones on a Polk LS50. Speaker manufacture changes and what is considered very good during one five year period changes the during the next. I no longer follow what's up. Checking on Polk the prices seem way out of my budget. Anyone have any ideas?

I've thought about trying to plug a new cone in. I've written Polk.

As this is the worst shopping season in 32 years I'm hoping there are some deals somewhere.

If there are any audiofiles out there I'd appreciate some advice. I have a made by Carver, Carver 2000 reciever and an Adcom CD changer, a Lynn-Axis turntable ( dates me)

Munk you might have more luck posting this over in community as well as here.
I know the guys here are very knowledgeable on many levels, but your missing a great part of bladeforums by not posting in community as well.
The people over there are pretty friendly too and there are all sorts of the good kind of 'philes over there.;)

Okey dokey. Thanks Yvsa, and Merry Christmas.

By the way, do you own any swords?

lot's of sword fever around here lately...

You're welcome and a Happy Winter Solstice to you!!!!:)

Depends on your definition of what a sword is.;)
I have a Tarwar and a Sundang and an African Sword that I need to visit Mike's site on Federico's tag line to remember what it's called again.:o
I also swapped a brass hilted Persian Sword to my cousin for a SMLE that I've had for over a year and never fired as yet although I gave the AK 47 I got a pretty good workout as well as my new Ruger 10/22.:D
I'm horrible at keeping my guns clean after I use them so that's why I haven't shot the SMLE, besides I shot one when I was in my 20's.
The ammo I have for my SMLE has the dirty corrosive primers and I'm too lazy to clean it up immediately after firing.
Of course with the Ballistol-Lube I shouldn't have any problems as it's said that the B-L does a most wonderful job of cleaning weapons as well as preserving them, anyway I like the product.:)

I too do not clean firearms as I once did and that is why I stay away from corrosive primers. I pitted the face of a SKS bolt once...

I have a AK post ban gray area- certain number of US parts and I can dress it out. Not as stringent as later post bans. talked to the chief AFT officer in Billings once about the regs and I knew more than he did. (at that time- I'd just read up) Point being no one has any fricking idea.

Always wanted a Enfield. But then..always wanted, always wanted...that 56oz Tarwar that just sold.

Always some help and thanks.

And speaking of cleaning guns I think the dust bunnies cleaned the antique .38 in 1984.
