I know there is a forum(s) somewhere for "personal illumination devices". I am not a member of any. I was just hoping someone could answer a quick question. I have a Sure-fire E2E and I was wondering if there was a 120 lumen lamp available to replace the 60 lumen lamp. What model#, where to buy, and what is a good price? I know battery life drops to about 20 minutes. Thanks for any help.

Nope, the brightest you'll get from an E-series flashlight is the 60 lumens of the MN03.

The larger two-cell lights, like the 6P, D2, Z2, C2, M2, can take a P61 lamp assembly, giving 120 lumens.

I've got the g2 with the superduper racecar p61 space modulator lamp and this thing is Bright.
I think the reason surefire doesnt put out a 61 type lamp for the e series is because of heat.
There's simply not enough flashlight there to soak(dissapate)thatmuch radiant heat.
I know that when I bought my g2 and was gonna upgrade to the bigger lamp, everybody kept telling me I should get a g2z bezel(glass lens) to go with it because of heat.
Boy were they right I would have melted the standard lens the first day with the old one.
Just today I ordered an E2E cause I couldnt stand slobbering over them anymore.
If you want the bigger lamp, you might want to consider a G2Z cause it comes standard with a glass lens and the p61 fits it of course

I really like the G2Z - you get a lot of features and it's as tough as the M2 in my experience.

I have an assortment of SureFires and I currently carry and use the A2. The E2e will come back into it's own when the KL4 LED Bezel is released for it this year.

The P61 120Lu/20min High Output Lamp Assembly is designed to give your light more impact on the target [eyes]. The idea is to overwhelm.
The KL4 overwhelms using a different aspect of light. The KL4's I've seen at the SHOT Show 2003 produced "daylight" brilliance white which is stunning to the dark eyes in the same way sheer quantity of output is from the High Output Lamp Assemblies.

I believe that having more than one SureFire is an excellent idea but if you're going to buy either a G2Z or wait and save up for a KL4 then based on the KL4's I've seen proto-types of, I would say wait for the KL4 for your E2e.

Listen to Size15s, he knows what he's talking about.
And what ever you do, stay away from www.candlepowerforums.com
cause youll get that flashahollic disease they talk about over there.
believe me, people go, "nah, its just a site about flashlights" and wonder over there to their dismay. Suddenly, you've got a slew of lightsticks lined up across the dresser and three more in the mail at any given time. Ever think you could spend as much on lights as you do knives? think again.
I'm now spending MORE on flashlights per month than knives.
Dont say I didnt warn you.:D
