All paperwork finally having been submitted last night (including the letter from AR601-25 that I asked if they needed two weeks ago), I verified this AM that Reserve Human Resources in St. Louis had received all my information.

This evening, I received a call from a specialist advising that my request for a delay in activation had been forwarded...and that I've been given an Adminstrative Delay until September, while my request is considered. If I'm given the chance to get my degree before returning to service, great. If not, I only really expected to buy another 2 weeks or so to visit family and friends, so I figure I'm doing well.

Regardless, thanks for all the kind wishes and emails and other ways y'all have shown personal consideration for me and kindness towards a service member.

John

I'm always surprised when life's doors open and close fast, I know it happens, but am startled anyway. I'm glad you got some breathing room to set things in order.

What a summer, eh? Well, you got your girl, your family, friends, and HI forum backing you.

Hey John,

However it works out, it will all work out.

All you have to do is your best...and you would do that anyway.

We're here if you need us.

Be well and safe.

Thanks for the update John. I was thinking about you this morning, wondering how you were doing.

I hope you get your degree before shipping out. Good luck and try to drop us a line to let us know things are ok
:)

That's good news John!

Will pray you get permission to finish the degree...

Thanks again for your service to our country, and comradeship here.

You have been an encouragement, blessing, and inspiration in many ways to me personally.

Tom

PS I don't know about others, but your handle always makes me think about the AC130. Something to fear, and to respect, and to be glad it is on your side...

All prayers and blessings greatfully received. :)

I really do want to do my part for my country. I just hope they find a way to use me intelligently.

John

I just hope they find a way to use me intelligently>>>> ....

Uh...do the Armed forces have a good track record of doing that? Ulp.

I can type fairly well, probably about 55-60 wpm, corrected, on Word. I updated my skills listed on the Army websites to point out that I am a customer care expert, with a background in wireless, who can type. :)

You've obviously got this figured out, John. I have a feeling that things will turn out well for you. :)
