What's that? Why, it's the Kismet Wisconsin Whitetail Dissecter. It's done, and sometime tomorrow it'll fly to Oklahoma where Terry Sisco himself is going to fashion a sheath for it.

Sweet little knife, initial feedback from the boys in the squadron go like: "wow, that's solid/heavy/comfortable/sharp!!". 9" OAL, with 4 3/4" of that being a clean, simple, drop point blade. The other 4 1/4" is made up by the Axis deer antler handle (Axis antler is very dense and heavy compared to whitetail), and a good heavy single guard, so Kis don't slip and cut something besides deer critter.

I've got a pic, but having trouble posting it, so I'm going to e-mail a copy to a few folks in hopes someone can get a pic up today.

Kis has got a couple of my small file knives that I made up as kardas for a Pen knife, and he thinks them little boogers are cool. Bwaa, wait'll he cuts something with this rascal!

Sweet knife Sarge. Great simple design and very good execution. Nice work Greg. Your knives have some of your soul in them.

That is beautiful. You gotta post that in the BF gallery, or the knifemakers corner. That is so Pro! If I went to a knife show, I expect I'd see a triple digit price tag on that beauty.

Awesome.

Nice work, Sarge. Simple and functional, yet very attractive. Kismet, we expect a full report when it arrives:).

fitted together. It is a karda (mini seax design) for my HI Seax. Since I suck at stock removal, I just clipped the point of an old straight razor to shape the seax, then fitted it to a buffalo horn tip.

The razor was an old Zartina metalworks (Soligen) razor that had too thick a profile to be usable any more as a razor, but it sees new life now as a wickedly sharp hollow-ground karda! Steel is really hard and shiny, very resistant to files (gonna be trickky to add any filework to this!.

I think the smooth and rounded part of the spine will make an excellent chakmak.

I will post pix after the handle is fully carved. you guys won't believe what I'm gonna do to it.

{{Sorry to hijack yer thread Sarge. I'd start me own but I only had the "Tell" part of "Show and tell" going.}}

Very nice work Sarge! I like it a lot. That is a very clean, functional design. I'd like to second Steve's comment about your knives having some of your soul in them. Keep up the great work.
Regards,
Greg

Thank you, Sarge...

It matches perfectly the blend between function and art which so appeals to me. But the best part...the very best part...is that it is YOUR craftsmanship. Knives have stories...and some of yours are in this work, perhaps to be told, perhaps to be learned, perhaps stories that are secrets that no one can know.

But this is an extension of who you are, what you have done, and where you are continuing.

I will treasure it.

Thank you.:)
