The One

Just saw this on DVD last night for the first time.

Excellent.

Bagua & Xingyi kung fu styles.
Good action.
Good effects.
Good actors.
Good story.
Good science fiction.

Good grief!
I'll need to watch some more Jet Li now.
:D

Jet li - used captains of crush to train for this film..

Did you see how he lifted those two bikes - bet he could close a number 4 !!

hehehe

:D

Effects are getting so good.

I was amazed at the number of objects & people
that were entirely computer generated.
Love the extra background the dvds provide.

Nice movie, liked the ending. Perfect flick to cleanse the estrogen out of the TV system after the gals watched too much "Lifetime".

{Ok I admit it.. this was really just to get my first post out of the way without asking something really dumb ;) )

I actually preferred "Kiss of the Dragon" to "The One". A better plot, better acting, and better action. No computer generated effects, no wire-work, just good, old-fashioned kung-fu like Bruce Lee used to do.

Best of all, you get to see Jet beat the snot out of scores of Frenchmen! What could be better? (Just kidding.)

What is the name of that disease you described, I recognize the symptoms but I don't know exactly what it's called!:D :D

Be ad vised that there are more than khuks at HI, there are some fonr bowies and swords every now and again.

HIKV

Himalayan Imports Khukuri Virus. No known cure, but then who'd want to be cured.

Welcome Blue Duck, and remember any loathsome and scurrilous duck guano remarks are directed at Khukuri4302/jim_l_clifton or something like that. Better known as Quackipuss around here.

Step inside the HI Cantina and Stage Stop, at your own risk, of course. Weird, but in a nice way ( most of the time ).

We had a thread called "Phantom of the Khukura" that told all about it - I think it was 83+ pages when Spark shut it down just cause it was giving the server Grand Mal seizures whenever it got a brought back to the top.

Time to go take my medication.

Jet Li here in the East is better known for his earlier Shaolin movies.

Those "Once Upon A Time In China" series helped to solidify his movie career. But Jet Li was already "famous" when he was about 10 years old when he was considered a Wushu prodigy.

When a guy once held the China Open Wushu Championship four years in a row, he's pretty special.
