Folks,
I know this is OT, and I thought about posting it to the Gallery, but I thought it would be seen by more people here and that's what I'm shooting for. Recently I sold a knife here in the board and I had an awful time getting good photos of it even though my wife has a very nice camera (D70 if you are interested) that I used.
I ran across this article about building a "light tent" that seems like it would have helped me a ton. From this and some other reading I've done even the most average cameras can shoot very impressive pics using what are pretty much household items (one example requires some tissues, a wastebasket, and a couple of lamps).

I haven't tried it yet, too many other projects, but I certainly plan to before I post any more pictures of small objects anywhere. I thought this would help out some non-photgraphy buffs like myself considering the numerous photos posted here regularly of knives.
Now back to our regularly scheduled discussions.
