Guillaume, I saw the shobo for the first time on your site and it looks cool, but I can't find alot of info about use, manipulation, etc. Is it's manipulation as complex as a bali? Where can I find more info?

Thanx for any info,
Henry

Henry,

The Ninjutsu's Shobo or Chinese Wushu's Emei Mountain sting is quite a rare weapon. I bought one in NYC (the one on balisong.net) and a pair in Shaolin.
Blasto, who posts regularly here, was also interested and managed to get one over the net (if you need links, ask him or me).
Regarding manipulation, well, it's not as wide as balisong. It's fun to have the sting rotate quickly inside your hand. You can imagine few techniques bringing the sting from the inside of the hand to the outside and vice-versa. But for a beginner like me, it seems quite limited at first view.
I would have to train more... I have no time now!!! :-)
And I've never seen a good wushu artist practising it for inspiration.

Guillaume

PS: sorry all, it's out of topic in a balisong forum... the only point is that it is a similar "dexterity small weapon".

Thanx for the info. I bought a pair at a martial arts gift shop at the mall and am having fun figuring stuff out with them, although a chop stick and a rubber band have basically the same capabilities as far as manipulation.
