So naive.. Opposing actions of their government, those girls came to Iraq as members of an antiwar organization - just to be butchered by the same people they came to support. Poor them. Poor families.

Simona Pari and Simona Torretta, both 29, were kidnapped at gunpoint in Baghdad earlier this month.

Add two more victims to the ever growing list.

"The heads of the two criminal agents of Italian intelligence, Simona Pari and Simona Toretta have been chopped off by knife without pity or mercy," said the claim. "The video of cutting off the heads of the two Italian hostages will be issued soon."

Hmph. If I was working in Iraq, and was kidnapped, if the Allies found out where I was being held, I would want a precision-guided 1000-lber dropped on my ass...and those with me.

There's this part of me... a secluded part... that just wants to jump up on some big rock and say...

<in a calm yet clear manner>

"Boys, I'm done. I've had enough. It's time to kick some ass until there is no more ass to kick. Who's with me."

But you know how it is.

This has gone too far already. Things need to be done.

In every war there are civilain casualties. I don't think we are fighting this Irag war as a "war". It seems more of a containment effort.

I think it is getting out of hand and stronger, much stonger measures need to be taken.

One suggestion, from Lt. Michael DeLong (ret.) who served under Gen. Tommy Franks, was that we pay blood price and apologize for all civilian/innocent casualties in Iraq. He claims that after talking to a major tribal leader, that they are expected to avenge these deaths unless proper reparations are met. We've done this before in Somalia, I think it may cut down on the insurgency. As for the murderers, they should still be hunted down and dealt with. We recently hit a leader of the group who beheaded the last American hostage, blew up his car with a missile.

The whole place is a total mess. It has slid further and further into anarchy and chaos every day since we invaded and there's no end in sight.

I think if we had a large cadre of spies and paid snitches and then collectively punished not only the terrorists and insurgents, but killed their familes and fellow ethinic tribe we could begin to control, but then we'd be doing the same thing that Saddam did to preserve order and we wouldn't be able to say we removed an evil dictator who committed genocide on his people. I have heard Saddam defended his actions against the Kurds and Shiites as that he was only doing what he had to do to preserve order. Looks like maybe he was right.

and folks came to kidnap me, I'd be like "Kill me now, ye fekkin non-pig eater, or we'll wrestle fer control of that AK and see what's to be.

I will not be part of an agenda.

Sometimes, ya gotta know when to say NO. I decided a while ago fer meself that life without dignity is no life at all.

Beheaded with with a knife probably beats torture at the hands of the NVA hands down as a good way to go. It is done for symbology and impact.

The allies were in postwar germany for 8 years b4 things cleared up. Many folks in Iraq are with us.

Ideal treatment of those animals..

1. Length of rope = free

2. Rusty Handsaw = free

3. Roll of electrical tape = $3???

4. Bucket of pig's blood = probably free too

Satisfaction... = priceless. :D

Bahahahaha...

Hindus from Kashmir. I say we let those folks be the next insurgents in Iraq.

They make white hillbillies look tame&lame when it comes to hatin'.

Italian Women Hostages Freed in Iraq!

Simona Pari and Simona Torretta

Two Italian women aid workers have been freed in Baghdad, three weeks after being taken hostage.

But there was still no word of the fate of Briton Ken Bigley, threatened with beheading by his captors who have remained silent for almost a week.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said the women and two Iraqis seized at gunpoint with them were handed over to the Red Cross in Iraq.

He said the 29-year-old women, Simona Pari and Simona Torretta , were expected to return to Italy soon.

"Finally a moment of joy," Berlusconi said. "The two girls are well and will be able to return to their loved ones tonight."

The two women were working for the aid agency A Bridge To..., and were involved in school and water projects. They were abducted from their Baghdad office on September 7.

Berlusconi went before Parliament to give details of the release, thanking the intelligence agencies of Iraq's neighbouring countries, including Jordan, whose king was in Rome. The assembly broke into applause.

The four kidnapped Egyptians were also freed in Baghdad.

No news on the Englisman still. :(
