Hi guys. The lump that my wife had removed from her breast has proven to indeed be cancerous. We found out Friday and it was a hell of weekend. The overall prognosis looks promising, but it will be a long road for us. Right now we are waiting for some tests to make sure it has not spread, the Dr. doesn't think so but we have to make sure. Regardless, it is looking like there will be surgery to remove some lymph nodes, along with chemotherapy and maybe radiation. I ask for prayers to give us strength to get through the rough times ahead. Thanks.

Hang in there. I know it sounds awful, but it doesn't mean she's going to drop dead on you. My wife Harriet was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago, had a double mastectomy, then had a small local recurrence 2.5 years ago.

There is a wonderful email support group that you and/or your wife might want to subscribe to or at least look at. Just go to this Web site for information on how to subscribe and how to access the archives. This forum has been significantly important to Harriet in managing her treatment and recovery. There's a real wealth of information there -- real-world, real-life experiences, real options -- on treatments, dealing with the medical community, and a lot of personal support. Also, this group holds a face-to-face gathering every year so members can meet one another in person. This year's event is October 17-19th in Portland, Maine. More information on the gathering is at The Maine Event.

Prayers and sincere best wishes headed your family's way Bob. Is there an address where we might send flowers, cards, etc. as a more tangible expression of our support?

Sarge

Best wishes, Bob, to both of you. Don't underestimate how much it's all going to take out of YOU. Remember that A LOT of women survive this. Hang in there.

Thanks so much guys, your prayers mean much to me. Russ, thanks for the links and the info. Sarge, or anyone else, if you want to send her a card then email me for our address. I don't want to post it in an open forum. I trust you regulars, but you never know what kind of people can be lurking. Thanks again for your support.

Younger Sis, Fran, lost a breast to cancer 10 years ago but she's 61 and doing fine. Puja in the works.
