Sarah saw the doc today for the scoliosis. Her top curve is 24 degrees which is usually enough to put someone in a brace but it is so high up that bracing won't be possible. So for now we just wait and see, come back the end of the year for another xray to compare too. They only do surgery if the curve is about 45 or so or worse so we're still far from that but it's still a possibility. The doc doesn't think it's progressing as fast as originally thought. So she goes back in Dec. Looks like she will be seeing the doc for x-rays about every 4 months for the next 1 1/2-2 years. She was happy that she doesn't have to wear a brace. She doesn't want to have to explaine it to all her friends at school. (She is a teenager after all
)
Not so happy news tho.
She lives with mom, we are divorced, and mom doesn't want her to own any knives.(Or guns)
She is a very responsible young lady, and I think she can handle the responsibilities of owning her own knife. Mom sees things differently. Says that as a teen girl, she has no need of any knife. So the knives I was going to give her will remain at my house, and she will only use or carry them while she is with me. Oh well, what can you do? You can only argue with someone for so long on any subject. Then it only becomes a contest of wills. I don't want that.
Anyway, thanks for the prayers. Sarah says thanks too. And thanks for allowing me to add the above to get it off my chest.
