Ok, I am in the process of trading for the gun below. I am not trading knives, but other stuff(Bike, Watch) what value do you guys think this HK USP Mk23 has?

It comes with the case etc. It is used, but not a lot, I remember these and they had that little o-ring and everything. Very cool gun. I don't want to get hosed on the deal. But I have not seen these for sale in years, nor have I seen used ones come up.
thanks

Brother, I have seen the MK23 sell for between 1,500 and 2,000 in that condition. the problem is that its kind of a specialty gun and you need to find someone thats looking for it. ts a large weapon that doesnt fit a lot of people. The one in the picture is not a MK23 though, it looks like the tac model which was a lot less expensive. I would have him take a photo of the stamping on the weapon buddy, dont get hosed on the deal. i would bet money it does not say MK23 anywhere on it though.

Once you figure out what it is, you should check out Gunbroker.com.
The SOCOM MK23's listed there go for about 1500 - 2000 used. There is a brand new one listed for 2200.00. At Gunbroker, you can also do a search for completed auctions, which will show you what the weapons actually sold for in the last 6 months. That site is a good indicator of what the market will bear. I personally dont know of a legitimate auction site that has more weapons accurately priced. GunsAmerica may have more listings, but that is mostly dealers and not a true auction site.

it does not say mk23 anywhere. So then 1k would be fair right? it does have the O-ring

Yes that is a USP45TAC. I have one, great gun imho, everything the MK23 has but without the size and weight.

They sell for around $1k new.

What does it say, it should be marked with the actual model. There are a few that have the threaded barrel and o ring setup. 1K isnt to bad for any of the above setups though, depending on how much it has really been used, and if he ran a can on it. They are around 1,150 new when you can find them.

Do you plan on keeping it, or reselling it. If you plan on keeping it then its not half bad. If you plan to resell it, I would work the price a little more because you may sit on it for a while.

I plan on keeping it. It has the o-ring and threaded barrel. it says USP Tactical, and came with 4 magazines. I have a regular USP 45 stainless, so this one is perfect for plinking with.

It is hardly used. Maybe 500 rounds to 1000 rounds over it's lifespan.

Cobalt,

I have had 3 of those, down to 2 now. Great guns. I sold one about a month ago for $1100 and it had maybe 100 rounds through it. If it is in good shape I would say your pretty safe with $1000.

I really like that frame and all of mine shot great. Only sold the one to help fund another firearm purchase and I thought since I only have 2 hands, having 3 of the same gun was a bit of an overkill. I am a huge HK fan and think you will be very happy with it if the deal goes through.

Good luck bro,
Garth

With 500-1000 rounds, and you planing on keeping and not just trying to flip it, you are pretty good with a trade value of 1K. BTW, if you do not already own a can, that is the perfect host for your first. All 45acp is sub sonic and it makes it feel like your shooting 380 auto without needing hearing protection. Do the trade and be happy brother, you will enjoy her.

+1 Great gun for a can.

Great advice already given.

But I will say, GET IT ! I sold my reg USP two years ago planning to get this one, but still havn't.
I never did carry it because of size, but it shot so good I though I might as well go for one with adjustable sights and the O ring.

I have that same gun as well.

I purchased it NEW for $1,000 even from a local gun store in Memphis. I would try to get it for less than that, since it has had some rounds through it.

That said- like everyone else $1,000 for it is a good deal, only because it is one hell of a gun. I really enjoy shooting mine.

The only issue I have with it is the clip springs are really really stiff, even after owning it for years I sometimes have problems cramming the 10th bullet in. Combine that with the thinness of the sheet metal on the magazine and you have busted fingers and knuckles.

I just sold one with 5 or 6 -12 rounders, a Vortex, and 2 or 3 10's , extra O-rings for $1100 It is a Tactical

How many mags does it come with? And what is the capacity...12rd or 10rd? If it comes with the 10 rounders....I would offer like 800. If it comes with 12 rounders....900. You can get brand new with 2-12rd mags for 1000. Yes, 100 difference is justified considering HK tac 12 round mags go for $60+, if you can find them.

I would rather have the Tactical over the Mk23 any day. It's more pratical and does the same job just as well if not better. The Mk23 is a beast....oversized for no reason.

just as a side note - when i bought my hk tac new - it was 1050 and did not come with that case... then i spent a few weeks scouring the internet looking for someone to sell an original one - and ended up paying $140 for it. just something to think about. by the way - i really enjoy my tactical, and it is a perfect platform for a can!

So, after the Tactical arrives the regular USP 45 is homeless. Think of the gravity of that situation... do you want to be responsible for that?! Wait... I DO know a shelter in Indianapolis. I bet they would take it. I'll find the shipping address. :p

(yes, I have nothing worthwhile to add other than to say congrats on the potential new toy.) :D
