Okay, I'm almost embarrassed to post this thread. As some of you know I was heading out to Vermont for vacation. The plan was to camp out along the Appalachian Trail and/or Long Trail for a few nights. I've been sick since last week and just couldn't shake it. Did end up going out for a couple days and did some short day hikes. Anyway, I promised pics. Sorry this is all I have to offer :(

Thanks guys. Still feeling crappy. Just usual sore throat, sinuses, fever, etc. Was a good relaxing couple of days. Was really bummed though. My relatives lived 1/10th of a mile from the Bald Head Trail I think it was, which brought you to where the above sign was. From there, following the West Ridge Trail dumps you right on to the Appalachian Trail. So much hiking to be done, beautiful scenery, and you can camp wherever you want. I'm so bummed I couldn't take advantage of it :(

Oh and Mark, I was hoping you would be the one sending out the SH-E's ;)

Aaron, those are some beautiful pictures.....I wish I could show my duaghter snow, but we have been wearing shorts and sandals for the past few weeks and I had to start running my A/C again....I ever mention I hate Louisiana!

GREAT pics Aaron ... love those shots!!!

Where in VT is this?

Thanks for sharing your pics... glad you got out for a little bit while you were on vacation... hope you feel better soon.

It was nice last night Grav got like 3" or 4" of snow. Luckily the trails were pretty well packed so you could walk on them no problem but, if you went about 6" to either side you'd be in over your knees. Kind of sucked this morning though. Roads were slick as hell. Not something you want on steep, winding roads where there isn't even a shoulder to pull over onto because of all the snow. Gets a little sketchy seeing the tractor trailer trucks coming round the bend...LOL Here's a shot I took last night from their garage while it was snowing...

Get better soon and stop up for a visit.

Great pics! Was that near Killington, VT?
I went skiing there for a week in January.

Those ARE great pics. Glad to hear you're feeling better...and hope you're keeping well bundled up.

One of my daughters is fighting what is optimistically called 'viral pneumonia' even now.

So be careful out there.
