Being new this forum and buying my first HI khuk only a month ago, I've been wanting to ask how many of you would like to go and visit Nepal. I know right now is not the time to go. Hopefully, the situation will stabilize in the next year.

I spent 3 days in Kathmandu at the end of a 2 week India trip in April 1999. Did not get to see the rest of the country but I liked what I saw quite a bit more than India. If there are enough people interested maybe we can do long range planning for a visit someday.

I do...every day! I'm always up for a trip to Nepal. I miss those glorious green foothills! I just want to know if I can set up a visit at Birgorkha on my next trip.

jealous of you guys that can go visit.....NOT jealous of the risks and the plane trip over there......

Yeah, but i bet Bura throws hard:D Physics guys, what would be the damage bruise would sustain from a 48oz 20"+ AK thrown at say 100' per second? Barring friction and drag and traveling in a linear path with an average rotation (whatever that may be).
:)
j/k Bruise. I'm sure you'd make Bura laugh. he'd probably take you under his wing and you'd come back with the BSN (Brusie Special Nife):)

I'd run in a serpentine pattern throwing aluminum foil strips in the air to foul any radar guided hammers.

The risks don't bother me (and they are not great if you're smart), but the trip is definitely for the adventure traveler! It is a looooong plane ride (either way you go), with an obligatory looooong layover waiting for a flight into Kathmandu...and then that crazy landing diving into a bowl in the mountains full of clouds and smog with a hard landing.

I don't really mind. I don't travel to be comfortable.

Believe it or not, on my last trip to Nepal I shared a flight into Tribhuvan with Sir Edmund Hillary, who was headed to the Golden Anniversary Celebration. I was looking out the window at Everest rising from the clouds in the distance with Sir Edmund smiling nostalgically a few feet away. Of course, Norgay isn't around anymore...

Oops, I'm getting off topic here, sorry. I didn't mean that to be a celebrating spotting, auto-grph hound sort of anecdote. On the contrary, it was a very profound moment for me.
