OT: Wolf fur/hide--where to find?

I'm looking for a piece of wolf fur/hide--preferrably a longish strip. It's for a project I'm working on. Anyone know where I might find such a thing, or even it it's legal to own?

I'd give up on Wolf. Several years ago people were looking for Eagle feathers. I, in my innocence, said there were dead Eagles all over Montana and I might be able to find one. Yvsa set me straight. The Bald Eagle is protected, and he needs paperwork even to have them on a ceremonial dress. (I still think the local ndn's here just pick them off the ground)

I'm guessing no lower 48 wolf fur- but maybe some Alaskan.

Coyote makes a darn nice fur, btw, or Bobcat.

mross-- I can't get that link to load.

munk--the eagle issue is what got me thinking about the legality of wolf fur.

Coyote won't do. I just drove past a roadkill coyote yesterday. I need wolf skin.

Josh if these folks don't have it then it can't be got.

They are very reputable and their descriptions extremely accurate. I bought my otter skin from them for my otter drag and several freinds have bought from them as well. Wolf is still legal to own. You may have to leave the small tag on but I don't know for sure. Moscow Hide and Fur will know, just ask when you get a hold of them, or the info may even be online.

Edit:
They have several and some damned good prices for wolf!!!!:D
If you need to cut the fur drop me an email and I'll tell you what I know. There's a couple of tricks you might want to know.;)

Doesn't someone make faux eagle feathers?
Crazy Crow Trading Post has several kinds of faux feathers. Quite accurate and hard to tell the difference from a distance. I had a faux Golden Eagle feather attached to a medicine Wheel in the old Dodge. The feather was getting pretty bad so when we got the new Camry I ordered some small faux Bald Eagle feathers to repair it, looks pretty good.
I could put real feathers on it and keep a copy of my permit in the car but there's been too many instances of broken windows and feathers stolen.:grumpy: :(

I don't have any to spare!>>>>>>>> Semper fi

That's right, Semper, when you get your age you get long of tooth and thin of fur.

Glad you found your Wolf, Josh. If Coyote won't do in Calif I'm betting their fur does not thicken for the Winter cold as here. The winter pelts here are thick and luxurious. Even the Coyote in Calif is a watered down PC animal.
Probably the Coyotes eat meat substitute.

Well, nothing wrong with coyotes, just not what I'm looking for. I specifically need wolf--no substitutions.

The project has been scrapped, sadly, or at least rethought a bit. I've got some pictures of me in a French maid outfit that I could post though.

Please provide address to mail the check, for those of us who will pay big bucks for you NOT to post those pics.

This post got you some rep points Aardvark!:D  :D

Aardvark's post preceeded my own thought,

All these years upon seeing Josh's atavar, and listening to his voice, my mind's eye drew a face for him that was boyish, good, strong, true. A Dicken's youth. When he posted his picture I was shocked. This ...Man, had experience, some bitterness, was tough, and LARGE. The surprise passed quickly as I saw the image did fit the face.

Bruise suggested a Wolf Thong, though, and regardless of how Tough Josh is, I was going to BEG not to show that.

There are some things, after all, not to be seen. Dignity. (unless Benaround volunteers...and even then...)
