Well, two weeks ago I had decided that mrs. Cobalt and I were not going to make it because of the incredible number of bills that we have acrued in our recent 2000 mile transplant.

So today I was pondering Blade and how I really do not want to miss it even though I will not be buying any knives. Well, I decided to check my marriotts rewards points which I have never used and lo and behold I had enough points to stay at the Waverly for three nights. So thursday night through Saturday night it is for us. We'll be there even though plane tickets will be our only expense and then food. So we'll see you guys there. Can't wait. Since I have to pay off over 11k in CC appliance and furniture bills I won't be competing for knives but I will be watching from the sidelines. :thumbup:

We might be eating burgers on thursday night though:D
 
Good to hear. Somebody's got to keep Jerry awake.

We once used Westin points for a room for two nights at the Park Lane Sheraton in Piccadilly, London. It's one-night rate was more than my house payment. :eek:

Actually, I was in Austin last year and had a bad experience at a Homestead Suites (one of those extended stay places), so they gave me a freebie coupon. Luckily, there's one less than a mile from the Galleria Convention Center. It ain't the Waverly, but it's free.

Yeah, my wife keeps telling me the same thing, but I wonder how realistic this is. :p
 
:thumbup: Glad to hear you can make it. Don't know if we are; the show is moved up a week and little resingirl won't be done with school yet, plus this year is my wife's "turn" to go to a jewelry conference. Maybe I'll ditch the family and find someone to share the ride and room.

2000 miles, eh? So are you delivering the mail in California again? :p

Well indirectly... I said that if Cobalt went to Blade so would I.

I can hang with Jerry while Coblat sleeps, just like last year.:p

Cool, I'll buy you a few drinks and Rene even more (she is a trooper, my wife would never make it thru the whole weekend). Maybe I can get on her good side and she will dive into the crowd for a knife for me!!! :eek:

Yeah when she did that dive to the floor last year I wasn't sure if she was going for the knife or the gold rings on Jaxx's toes.:confused: :confused: :confused:
