I posted the above video link because I couldn't take any decent pictures. As to the knife itself, I'm really impressed. It was a little stiff to open at first but with a little nano oil it's breaking in as is the LAWKS with the same remedy. F & F is very good with the blade centered, both scales beveled and the jimping adequate without being too sharp. The spacer and scales are almost - almost - perfectly flush with the G10 side a hairs width proud and the steel side even less so. The G10 is moderately grippy and the steel side is slick with the three diagonal grooves adding a little traction. The clip is on the steel side and slides in easily and tensions firmly while still coming out easily. Lockup is rock solid with no play in any direction. Unlocking the knife is a little tough but not prohibitive though the side of your thumb will get tender from the jimping. The LAWKS is also a little hard to engage as the lever sits below the line of the scale - disengagement is much easier. The blade shape is something I really like - it didn't come out of the box very sharp and wouldn't cleanly slice paper. A few minutes on a strop fixed that but it still won't shave so it will have to be sharpened. Overall, once I get the edge I want, I'm sure I'll be carrying it a lot. It's slim, not too heavy, great blade shape and length, deploys well with a wrist flick and has a very secure lock, especially when LAWKS is engaged. That may not be necessary as the lock didn't budge during fairly stout spine whacking without LAWKS. I think if you liked the hissatsu, you'll love the Otanashi Noh Ken.

I've been waiting on this knife since Dec. It's on it's way now... hopefully by the weekend!

Those are so cool... I would get one if I hadn't just purchased an emerson PTAC (they kind of fill the same role I guess :p) maybe ill get one anyway if I watch that video enough.

I wish it was an otf though... :D

Little update - the lawks is loosening up with use and and the blade is much sharper after reprofiling to 30 degrees inclusive. Reprofiling sucks, though - even with a clamp system and extra coarse diamond stone it took hours.

This blade is big and bad. Only negative is the thumb disk. The knurling is not very sharp so it makes it somewhat difficult to open.
