Sorry, doesn't work like that. If the blade opens with a spring, and the actuator (button, slider, lever, switch) is part of the handle, it's a switchblade. The only reason Assisted Opening knives evade the definition is because they have no actuator; you have to put finger to blade to open them.
Microtechs are also widely known as switchblade makers by law enforcement.
The only upside I can tell you is that in California, switchblades with blades under 2 inches long are legal to carry. But any bigger than that and it is illegal to sell them or carry them, so coupled with federal laws on interstate sale, the only legal way for you to get a microtech with a blade over 2" is to travel out of state, buy one, then bring it home and keep it at home.
I don't know the microtech catalog that well, so I am not sure if they sell any sub 2 inch blades.
