we need 'em. And, I nor Ethan can be there to do them. We seem to have Beckerheads across the globe, from the USA, to England, to Sweden, to Germany, to Canada, to Oz. As much as I would love to show up with a box of Beckers, and have a laffin' good time, I can't.

So, who wants to have a Gathering for Beckerheads and the non initiated. In their area?

The primary goal is good times, laffs, fun, and knives, but it might be a good way to spread the Becker, a little. Show off some of your skills, learn new ones, teach, and practice. You know, have fun. We have talked about group meets in the past, but now I think, is the time to do it. Weathers good, knives are good, and ya'll never know who's around you. Time to find out.

So, here's what I will do, anyone that steps up and wants to Lead a Gathering, I will do what I can to get you guys some prizes for contests, and what not. Not guarantee'in anything, but I got friends. :D

Leader of the Gathering must organize it, find a place, keep it all nice and straight, and post pics of the event.

Anyone interested?

Post up here and lay out what you think about it. I would like to see one in the Northeast, Midwest, and Pacific area, but who knows, could go places we've never seen before, or thought of.

Just a thought.

We've been talking about having something out here on the west coast. I'd love to be the one putting it all together because of my schedule and all, but I just don't think that I'd do a good enough job. Though, we have talked about it some and as of right now I think that we are thinking that south or central Oregon would be a good place for out here.

If no one else wants to step up for the west coast though I gladly will.
 
I hereby officially announce that there will be a European Beckerhead Gathering (EBG). Not sure when, but there will be one. Germany, Sweden, hell I don't know. But I'm sure there will be one.

Not really a gathering but a few of us are going to be doing an over nighter in the Oregon Coastal range soon.
 
I'm game for a midwest get together if there's interest.
I'm an hour from KC, 2 1/2 hours from Omaha, 3 1/2 hours from Tulsa or OKC -- if there's interest I'm sure I can find a campground somewhere relatively close. (hell, if folks aren't afraid of ticks and truly primitive camping, I've got some rough pasture that was burned 10 days ago, so the grass will be 6" deep in another 3 weeks and a 1/4 acre pond full of hybrid sunfish)

I'm in, there is an awesome island smack dab in the middle of prineville res. Camped there twice on FAL shoots, I miss it. I know a real good dude who would boat us over too.

If you send a pat mach to SC, I will get together with Carolina River Rat and destroy some trees(sorry Bladite).
 
I think the best thing to do right now is have one in the fall in the central Oregon area, Three Sisters Wilderness would be great. What this area, well other then the east coast a lot of use live within one day from this spot.

Although none of us are Beckerheads(yet), we are getting together here in WNY July 16, 17 and 18. This will be the third year. It's been a good time so far. Toooj will be there, as well as one of his sales team. He says he's going to try to drag Ethan here, but that's a long haul for just a weekend for such a busy guy. There will be LOTS of Beckers(and some for purchase) and other blades to chop, hack, whittle, throw and dig with. Camping, good food, good beer and good folks. There will probably be some bad beer there as well.

All are welcome--families, pets, mistresses, goats, whatever. The land belongs to my family, so there are no restrictions on campfires, tents, pooping in the woods, etc.

No worries, the idea is to get some of ya'll together. Beckerheads or not, Gatherings are Gatherings. I would come too, never too sharp, but I'm a busy fella myself at the moment:D. Still, it sounds like a great time, I hope ya'll have a good group and a great time.

As for anyone else, I was just wanting to see if ya'll wanted to make it happen. I'm fine with whatever ya'll want, it was only a suggestion.
