I was wondering what other custom knives can compare to CRK? Do CRK count as custom knives?

Humpty,

I think that CRK's compare favorably to many custom knives....even better than a lot of them IMHO!
In my view, a custom knife is one that is specifically made to your specs....not one lying on a table at a knife show. I don't think CRK"s are truly custom, however, it don't matter no me as long as the quality is there. If a knife is well-made and cuts good and is easily sharpened then I don't care if one guy made it or fifty. Just my two cents!

Better than a most customs, yes. IMO, to find comparable quality you would have to spend a lot more.

Custom quality combined with a consistency you seldom see in any product, backed by the best customer service in the industry.

I am a fan.

I was at the NYCKS a couple of weeks ago, and looked at custom folders costing 5,6,7, and even 8 hundred dollars. None of them could even come close to the precision and tolerances held by Mr. Reeve and the Sebenza. I found gaps between liners and bolsters, buggered screws, dull blades, uneven grind lines, ect. These knives were made by big time names. For me, 325.00 will buy you the best folder out there. I don't care how Mr. Reeve does it as long as he keeps doing it.

I think that the Sebenza is definetaly as good as and even alot better that other handmades in its class. Some customs have outstanding fit and finish but don't cut. Some are way over priced and then there are some that are do it all.The Sebenza does it all for me,excellent cutter, excellent fit and solid in every way.

Most belive that a custom knife means, made to cutomers specs or design and that is true, but I also believe that if a maker is using his own designs then that is also considered a custom knife.
