Other "fast" drawing knives like the CS Ti-Lite? (Dagger shaped)

Any knives other than the Ti-Lite out there? I like how it's symmetrical and resembles an Italian Stiletto.

I know I made a previous thread about fast drawing knives, I do have them in mind. But the idea of the Ti_lite is pretty awesome.

I'm pretty sure the Ti-Lite is 100% considered a folder therefore there is no California "Switchblade" law that permits it's size. So that is a plus.

I like how fast it is to draw. However, the shape of the blade isn't very good when it comes to cutting things open like a typical exacto knife can.

So... What I was wondering was: is there a knife that is fast like the Ti-Lite in the sense that it is not a switchblade; symmetrical shape; it can be used like an exacto knife (somewhat precision like cuts) this isn't very important though and is last requirement; and maybe a bit shorter.

Thanks guys.

Edit: Yeah.. I've noticed that the CS Ti-Lite is a very.... useless knife in everything except gutting someone... Which.. Is not really my purpose... I just love the look of Stilettos and the law prevents me owning one.

So what i'm looking for is something that is good enough for opening up packaging, and something that looks flashy and awesome when drawn from your pocket... However.. the closest in terms of blade looks/shape and length + speed. I think is a SOG Twitch II..... Problem is that a Twitch II has assisted opening...

I like the Spyderco Delica w/ Wave.. it's just the blade shape kills it and the handle is shaped weird. Not really looking for something with a molded grip from comfort.. just something that is fast, a blade that looks crazy tactical (Ka-Bar) or deadly (Stiletto).

Edit again:

I forgot to ask which Emerson is/below 7" that has the wave?

+1 for emerson I own 2, you might like the CQC-7 standard or mini. for me its the commander i have carried it for 3 years these knives look big but they have a thin profile I sometimes forget its their

Benchmade 806 D2 Axis AFCK

Fastest knife on the planet.

I'd bet money against someone with a "waved" Emerson for speed drawing and into using position in front of you.

Use your right index finger in the opening hole as you draw the knife from your right pocket with your right hand.

This is the only knife I'd bet my life on when going into a situation when I might need a S.D. blade.

How's about a large Kabar TDI knife carried on the 2:30 belt position. It's not a dagger, nor is it flashy, but it is the fastest concealed-carry position I can think of. It works for me, anyways.

How about a Ka Bar Thorn?

It's very fast to draw , has a useful blade shape, designed by Bob Dozier and D2 steel...

Meh... Even breaking 1/4 over 7" is a tab bit too big. Also, these knives are very expensive.

Looks pretty nice!

EDIT: rare, expensive, and 2" over my limit.

I don't wear a belt.

This also looks very nice, and exactly what i'm looking for. I'll go look it up more.

Hmm I just noticed that the blade is pretty much like a Ti-Lites....

Looks pretty nice! How much is one?

meh, if you can't afford Emerson, AFCK is pretty much like trying to touch the moon. While one of the coolest benchmades out there, they are discontinued, and they are EXTREMELY highly sought after blades, especially the more limited edition ones. Theres one up for straight auction on ebay with 4 days left (can't post ebay links here, you'll have to do a search), you can see if it goes within your price range.

Why do you need a knife under 7" total? I just read the Cali knife laws (briefly) and didn't see anything about 7" total...in fact, I didn't see any knife length requirements except on universities and schools. So any of the emersons should be A-OK, just pick your poison. But if you still need under 7" then I think the only emerson under 7" is the combat Karambit. Fits alot of your needs, usefulness probably least well, but it looks deadly as it was designed for combat. The reason there aren't any emersons under 7" total is because Emerson thinks that all knives, no matter what size blade, should have a full sized gripable usable handle, and that takes at minimum 4.6" based on the size of their smallest handle. If you only need a short blade then the Wave Feature Mini CQC-7B, CQC-14, and other models should fit the bill.

good luck

Uhh... don't get me wrong, as I understand you're quite likely only talking about folding knives here, but just in case you're not...

That Benchmade is a folder. That means there is no way in hell that it's the fastest knife on the planet, not even anywhere close. For a folding knife, sure, it's fast, but for a knife, it's not.

With a good sheath, a properly shaped fixed blade is so much faster and more reliable than any folder that it's not even funny. But yeah, apologies in advance - I'm not trying to offend anyone here, and I fully understand that the original poster was speaking of folding knives and similar. Just trying to "remind" people of the existence of the fixed blade - many seem to have forgotten about them in this folder craze, although we can attribute much of that to ridiculous laws that ban fixed blades while allowing folders of randomly selected blade length....

Like Gunfucius already suggested, the Ka-Bar TDI knives are worth considering. They're cheap, they look kind of kinky and they work extremely well for what they're designed for. But they are fixed blades, and legal issues may rule them out for you. (Some people, though, don't actually always care about such legal issues. Many of them are the bad guys, but some are good guys that just like to be able to defend themselves, even in countries and states where nearly anything from knives to pepper spray to walking canes are banned.)

Yeah... I just want something that won't look extremely huge in my small hands... roughly 7" from butt of palm to tip of middle finger and roughly 3 1/4 wide... so a large 8 inch knife in my hand would make me look like a serial killer... which I don't want.

Almost any axis-locked Benchmade is wicked fast. My fastest knife is the 940. It's faster for me than my 806, which fulloflead mentions above. I use inertia- the knife comes out and pops open in one smooth motion. It takes as much time as it takes to tap my pocket and move my hand up- less than one second, no matter how quickly you grab it, and without any fumbling for the thumbhole or lock pin. The 940 is faster than any automatic, hands down. Automatics you have to fumble with the button to get it open, plus most have safeties. I'm able to get a folder out and into position faster than my fixed blades. Fixed blades aren't all that fast for me- I guess I have mine all in there pretty tight.

The waved Endura is pretty fast- faster than my Emerson CQC-8, as the wave is bigger, and the slab texture is smoother. I don't think there's too much faster than the wave for getting a knife open.

Yeah, if all else fails... I can get the Benchmade 32 Morpho and Spyderco Delica Waved for a total of roughly.... $175. I'll have a Bali for fun when i'm bored and a Delica for EDC.

Only problem with the Delica and other waved knives is that I wear pants that are like light and stuff... Cargo pants and Dickies. So... I dunno... I might have to start wearing denim from now on.. but I don't like denim that much.

You shouldn't have any problem with the spydie wave with lighter weight pants. The edge on the wave is pretty smooth. Its not as smooth on the emersons. Dickies are pretty tough pants, mostly thicker from what I know. The only type of pants I'd worry about (and even then only slightly) is really thin slacks (silk type) and those parachute type material hiking pants (I dont know what its called, I have some made by Columbia outdoor). Be careful if you get the Bali, I'm pretty sure those are illegal in cali (stupid sheeple).

I have hands sized pretty much exactly as you have described, and I carry a folder that is 8.25" total and it fits my hand quite well. I've handled the emersons and their handle feels incredible, its designed be held. Spydie also makes some cool handles as well, endura and delica both, if you can go play with these two you might decide the bigger endura is better for you, I prefer a bigger blade and generally a bigger handle, but my current EDC has a relatively small handle (crkt m16).

I think overall you should go with the spydie endura or delica (whichever feels best) and then invest the rest of your cash in the sharpening device of your choice (hot picks around here: spydie sharpmaker, lansky/gatco system).
