So I'm looking to get a larger knife and I like the Rodent 9 design, certainly like it better than the Junglas, want to try out the handle which seems to abrogate the 'pinky-pinch' issue with knives' this size, want to try out the grind which may be thicker than necessary (as has been the case for other rat) but can be thinned down...
BUT I'd rather not have black coating. My other 3 rats (RMD, HRLM, RS) are tanker-grey w/ black canvas, a combination very pleasing to the eye though not as much as uncoated would be. So I am wondering, does the shop do other coatings for the rodent series and what does it cost? What about uncoated (not satin, mind you, just uncoated). I've seen some customized rats already, but why aren't such options available on these as they were on previous items?
I already sent an email, no reply yet, and finally called the Busse shop (spoke to Naomi) to see if someone had a window into the minds of these rat producers... still nothing. So I am trying here. What can y'all tell me? Suck it up at get the black? Fork out extra for a custom-job? What's the story?
