Does anybody collect knife merchandise other than knives such as advertising displays, catalogs, posters etc?
It takes a bit of searching but there are lots of items that can compliment a knife collection?
I have a couple store displays including one floor model and everything from posters to mouse pads.
What do my fellow collectors keep and where do you get the items?

Hmmm, that is an interesting question Tom. My first reaction is to say nothing, but quite by accident, I have managed to acquire quite a collection of sharpening paraphenalia, but I am pretty sure that is not what you are asking about.

I do have a somewhat spotty 12 year old collection of knife magazines and books. Since I don't collect production knives, I have no real interest in old marketing displays or ads, but I can imagine there are folks who do collect this kind of thing. If I was (and I am not) a collector of older factory pocketknives like Bernard Levine, then I suppose I would have a keen interest in historical examples of the history of the knife making industry.

I collect hand crafted items of many sorts, knives are just one of those kind of things. Maybe I'm not a 'real' knife collector...

I collect belt buckles from knife companies like Buck,Gerber,Colt,Winchester, etc.(I know that the gun companies contracted out their knives). I had a pretty good collection of leather Randall belt buckles made by Sullivan's until I sold them recently, I'm down to 2 buckles and 1 brass minted coin of WD Randall. I also have a pretty good collection of knifemaker's brochures going back to the 70's.
There must be other guys out there that collect paraphernalia.

yes, some spyderco-stuff:
book, hat, t-shirt, pin's, sticker, coffee-mug, thos little catalogs that come inside the box.

I collect BMs and am always looking for signs, older catalogs, advertising materials, new product announcements, display materials like counter pads, stickers and banners. Not all that easy to obtain --particularly the older stuff. I don't do the clothing items at all, but BM does have a great coffee mug !! :)
