In the ordeal that occured about 2 weeks ago w/ FullofLead getting very upset about lectures, I became more aware of the presence of pryknives.
I'd like to try to get a complete list. Why? Why the heck not?
Anyhoo....
I just found out that Newt Livesay and Ontario company also make one.
Who else do we have?
Becker.
Mad Dog.
Strider.
Anyone other Prymonsters out there?

For folders, as Fulloflead is a folder guy, I'd say that Strider (along with Buck Strider) and Extrema Ratio make good folding prybars. Then there's Peter Atwood. His folders aren't meant to be used as prybars, so he sells pocketsized prybars to reduce such temptations.

Three of the best sharpened fixted blade prybars are, IMHO, and INPO:

Swamp Rat Knife Works (in SR-101, not D2)
Busse Combat
Fehrman

:D :D

MPotter

Here are a few that I think would fit into this group.
They are 1/4 inch S30V, except the small one, it is 3/16

Thanks all for the responses, but I don't mean knives that can be used as prybars, rather knives that were intended to be used as prybars also.

I can only think of two off the top of my head:

my 18" WWII is 7/16" thick, zone hardened, made out of a Mercedes truck leaf spring. Weighs in at 28oz. And that's considered middle of the road. A 20" AK might be over 1/2" thick and weigh a good three pounds. I had a Becker Campanion that inspired a lot of confidence, too, as far as production knives go.

Greco knives aren't made for prying. but they certainly can do the job if need be and still do a knife's work

Spyderco Dive Probes and Strider BD :)
