Other Spyderco knives you would like to see get the Manix 2 light weight treatment?

The Manix lightweight has been a huge hit. I wonder if they would consider using the ball bearing lock and frn on other designs. Any existing designs you would like to see get the treatment?

I'm racking my brain and I'm struggling to come up with any other models that would benefit from this "treatment".
I'm not sure the ball bearing lock can be easily applied to models that weren't originally designed as such...

But to play along, I dunno, maybe the Tenacious with FRN and s30v for around the same price point?, or something like that...?

Re designing a knife for the ball lock would prove a challenge. It would also take away the feel of the original knife to begin with. S110v in many more blades would be better.

Native 5 LWT is coming soon. That would be my pick and it's happening... It'll have sprint steels sooner or later I'm sure.

I'd like to see a dodo lightweight.

That's already out, isn't it....? Or am I confusing Native 5 with plain ol Native? or what?

I think it's very possible we will see the lightweight treatment on other models. By that I mean we might see them make some other existing models with linerless frn. I don't think that redesigning a knife to put a cbbl lock on it would be part of this "lightweight treatment" though.

I agree, I tried to state as much in the second post.
The "CBBL" is a design feature of the Manix, it's not part of the "lightweight treatment".

For example, a LW version of the PM2 would still have a compression lock, just the handle scales would be replaced, and maybe it would get the S110V blade.
That would be a sweet knife.
Or dare I say it,... LW s110v Military?? Or would that be testing the limits of the FRN?

If the Manix 2 lightweight is about $70 with CTS BD-1 and $110 with S110v, would it stand to reason we could get an S110v Tenacious for about...$80? < YES PLEASE!

I dunno if the Chinese shop is set up to grind S110V :p

How about bringing out a Chaparral 4 with FRN and S110V. It seems to work well in a thin blade, and the Chaparral 2 and 3 have been expensive. Time for a super light, inexpensive slicing machine!
