Today i am going to order me a new pocket knife. Am thinking of getting another Steel Will Cutjack in D2.

What would be a good choice other than the Cutjack?

No Ontario RATs or anything AUS 8. Must be D2 or better.

Same price range. No high end ZT or what ever it is that make you guys so horney when you see you. Just simple working knife with pocket clip.

Check the Civivi line from WE. All sub-100 dollar knives, a lot of them are D2.

Or check out the Kershaw Link with 20CV steel. At ~$70 I think it's the best bang for your buck you can get in regards to blade steel. Plus it's made in the USA.

Check the Civivi line from WE.

Specifically, I'd like to recommend the CIVIVI Elementum. D2 in tons of variations and colors; S35VN for a higher price. BF-supporting vendor BladeHQ has a wide selection, including some exclusives.

Here's mine in (wildly impractical) brass:

You can also look into the Artisan cutlery lineup. Tons of options in D2 at very affordable prices. Also Kershaw came out with the Emerson Wave folder with a D2 blade.

I concur with everyone's recommendation of CIVVI, Bestech, CJRB.

I purchased four higher end Steel Will Cutjacks in M390. Love the blade shape and finish, and they were all very sharp out of the box. However, the build tolerance between the four pieces is all over the place. Only one has good detent, centered blade and good flipping action; one is very off-centered and there's nothing I can do to straighten it out; one has a detent so weak I can shake the blade out without much effort; and the fourth has bad blade play. This experience has soured my impression of Steel Will.

[Edit to add]
The M390 Cutjacks are made in Italy. Perhaps that's where the problems lay. My experiences with Italian made knives have not been good.

The D2 Cutjacks are made in China. I haven't handled these, but noted that others (plus a couple of reviewers whom I trust) who praise the Cutjack are talking about this one.

For anyone considering CIVIVI knives, we've got several in the family and this is one of their strong points: perfect fit and finish, and they punch well above their price point.
