Please tell about sharpening other than regular knives.

drill, scissors, chopping blade of food processor and ice screw are on my list so far.
The most tricky thing within this list is ice screw.

I wan to sharpen chisels and hand planes.
I will try again in time. (I've failed once :( )

contrasting with knives, where i mostly thin and polish the edge to increase cutting efficiency, with other tools and gadgets i normally make an effort to maintain the edge angle.

mostly you should be able to sharpen anything with some small diamond files like the DMT mini hone:

just keep stroking the bevel until you raise a burr, than a few light, flat strokes on the back to take most of the burr off (if the edge is chisel ground). a stropping never hurt anything...

since a lot can be learned from a picture i'll take some to show you how to sharpen drills, scissors, chisels and food processor blades, just send me your email address. drills can be tricky. i learned how to sharpen them when i took machine trades in high school. you have to have a good eye to judge the length of each edge so you wont get an oversize hole. a drill point guage can be a lot of help in doing this. i made one in school and i can send you a picture of one if it would help. scissors arent that hard. i have sharpened thousands of pairs over the years. if there are no nicks you can touch them up using a 400 grit belt. i'll take some pictures showing how this is done also. for the chisels and hand plane, what stones do you have on hand? i'm not sure what you mean by ice screw so i cant help with that.

I really didn't think the sharpening master directly gives me such a kind advise.
Thank you very much.
I'll try.

Sorry for my bad English, Richard.
I can make drills and chopping blade but failed to do hand planes and chisels.
Those two kind of tools are too difficult for me to keep consistent angle that I failed
to make them sharp. I ruined the edge. :(

chisels arent that hard. all you need is a good flat stone and steady hand. for planer blades, if you know someone with a good table saw, have them cut a slot in a piece of good hard wood at the angle you want on your planer blade to be sharpened at. the slot should allow the blade to slip in snugly but allow you to move the blade without much effort. also make sure it will hold the blade square to the side. with the blade in the block, lay the block with the back side of the edge facing you and push it away from you. this will form a burr on the backside. once you have a good burr formed, switch to the finest stone you have, lay the blade flat on the stone and remove the burr. then lay the blade on the stoned edge and push it away from you as if you were shaving off some stone to remove the rest of the burr. if you dont understand what i mean, i have a planer blade here that i can take pictures of to show you what i mean.
