Other than looks, what are the teeth on the FUSION PRIMITIVE for?

Just bought the primitive and quite like it. Nice weight, size etc.
But honestly what are the saw-like teeth for?
I am a woodworker and so know a bit about saws and how they work. Most saw teeth are wider than the rest of the blade so that there is space in the cut and the saw doesn't bind and get jammed.
Some saws on knives have teeth that are the same thickness as the blade, fair enough. But the teeth on the PRIMITIVE actually taper and become thinner at the tips. They actually taper to less that half the blade thickness. USELESS! You can only cut 1/2 inch into a piece of wood before the blade binds on the edges and you can't go any further.
If a knife is designed to be practical and also look cool then it should be in that order, not the other way round.
I removed the teeth from mine, much better! I really quite like it now.
I had expected better, especially when it is advertised as being able to be used as a machete, small limb saw etc.
Don't sell out and make things that look really cool but are useless!
Something for SOG to think about?

Would have thought that someone from SOG would have had to something to say on this topic? Has anyone else used the saw on the Primitive or know anything about it?

The angle of the teeth (how it tapers) doesn't look like it would work well with sawing wood.

SOG has a model called the Seal Revolver. That one works well with wood. They should of got some input from Robbie for the Jungle Primitive when the knife was being designed :p

It doesn't matter. The edge doesn't cut either. The worst knife SOG ever made IMO. I never could get a decent edge on mine. The saw? It is a mystery. The teeth have no pitch at all. The saw on the Seal Revolver (a good knife) actually saws. Normally, I love the big bush blades, but that one just doesn't do it for me.
