Does anyone know of any other knives with a wave-type opening system apart from the EKIs and Ti Lites? Ive got a Commander and Zytel TiLite but really like the way both deploy and wouldnt mind a couple more for the collection. Do the CRKTs with the double flippers/finger guards work the same way?

Cheers,

Dan

They were available as a limited run through selfdefenseforums.com. Not sure if there's any left.

The new Delica and Endura 4 are also coming out with waves later this year.

Sorry, all of the original run of the waved Enduras are gone. I did just see one on eBay, but there is going to be another waved Endura that will be produced eventually, I don't think it will be limited either. You might just want to wait, especially since most people are saying how much they like the new improved Endura handle, which will be on the new waved knife.

STR does a good job with his "Rave mods" done with permission from Mr. Emerson. Any tip up carry knife with the proper shape (eg-thumb ramp) can be modded to wave open. It just depends on how the knife looks when closed. Do a search here on "waved" and you can see some of his work on previous threads. I'm not sure if STR is still taking orders but you can do it yourself with a dremel and a steady hand

If you don't mind taking a dremel to it, most folders can be waved.

Since this thread is bound to get a "zip tie the opening hole" post soon: only do that if you don't want to rely for SD.
